Kaboom! The main 4 GB hard drive in this server decided it would be rather cute to explode and take everything down with it. After a wasted weekend all the services this box provides are now back on-line. However all data, including web sites and email access, for the moment is lost. When I have more time to play I’ll look into what I can recover. In the mean time I will begin my task to write “backups are good idea.” one hundred times.
Had a get together with a few ex-OA groupies yesterday. Drank way too much… My head hurts… In spite of my massive hang over I managed to do some more upgrades to my here network. My main workstation has been upgraded to a faster 20 GB Maxtor hard drive and the 20 GB from it has been moved to this machine. Now this machine has a whole lot more breathing room for sharing my MP3’s and videos across the network. Very nice.
Finally decided to discard my massive uptime and do some upgrades to the ol’ rusty Linux server. The hard drive has been upgraded to a 4 GB and the memory has been upped to 32 MB. Wow!
It was high time for a change. I’ve completely redesigned a new look for this site. This time I used entirely strict XHTML and CSS making the site quite backwards compatible with older text browsers, very rich yet clean with newer fifth generation browsers, and above all very light weight. I still have much tweaking to do and much content (what content my site had) to port to the new layout, however things are definitely starting to take shape. In the true spirit of Incoherency.Net, more time well wasted.
