Vacation, Sweet Vacation

May 17th, 2002

Yeehaw! The hell with tweaking web sites or selling computers! I am on vacation baby! One entire week without the likes of OA Group! For the next few days I’ll be camping, followed by a road trip to Peace River to visit some relatives… Boooyah!

Web Standards, it’s a Good Thing

May 10th, 2002

It was high time for a change. I’ve completely redesigned a new look for this site. This time I used entirely strict XHTML and CSS making the site quite backwards compatible with older text browsers, very rich yet clean with newer fifth generation browsers, and above all very light weight. I still have much tweaking to do and much content (what content my site had) to port to the new layout, however things are definitely starting to take shape. In the true spirit of Incoherency.Net, more time well wasted.

Hosting my very own DNS

March 20th, 2002

After some playing around with BIND Incoherency.Net is now hosting its own DNS services. Not only is this sexier, but so far it appears to be faster. Later, when I’m feeling ambitious I’ll replace this stinky old hardware with my shiny new OpenBSD server.

24 MB of RAM just isn’t Enough

March 5th, 2002

I guess I shouldn’t have picked at it. Incoherency.Net has now had its first non-connection related down-time after 72 days of straight uptime. Somehow I caused a server process to keep spawning. I was unable to stop it as it ate up all my available memory to the point that I could not log in.

Perhaps more then 24 MB of RAM would be in order considering everything this machine is running.

Woes of a Dynamic IP

February 17th, 2002

Telus changed my IP address again. Real pain! Every time that happens I’ve got to wait a lousy 24 hours or so before all the DNS records are updated… Life is hard when you have a dynamic IP!
